Elimination of Boarded-Up Windows on The Island.
While they may recede into the background after having lived here for some time, the prevalence of boarded-up windows on the island is very noticeable to people visiting for the first time and will likely contribute to their perception of the future prospects of Rumford Falls. Funding and/or volunteer/private interest may be generated for either replacing boarded up windows or painting decorative panels as has been done with other historic buildings. (i.e. a local artist or artists may be commissioned to paint imitation windows with flower pots or with period costumed characters looking out.)
